Poliquin Wins First Debate

Press Release

Date: Oct. 8, 2018
Location: Lewiston, ME
Issues: Elections

Giving Maine voters a clear choice between himself and the radical socialist Jared Golden, Congressman Bruce Poliquin easily won the first debate tonight in the Maine 2nd District race.

Poliquin highlighted his work to support Maine's jobs and economy, care for our Veterans as a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, combat the opioid epidemic, protect Mainers' Second Amendment rights, combat unfair trade, and work across the aisle with Democrats and Republicans to get things done for Maine.

With more than 35 years of job creation experience, Poliquin pointed to specific accomplishments to help bring jobs back to Maine and to keep the economy moving in the right direction. Jared Golden, on the other hand, has no job creation experience at all and voted against Maine small businesses 100% of the time.

While Poliquin pointed to his work to lower healthcare costs, protect those with pre-existing conditions, and protect Medicare and Social Security, Jared Golden continued to push his radical scheme that would more than double taxes, put Medicare at risk for seniors, and cost more than $32 trillion.

Golden also couldn't answer for his dismal record opposing the Constitution on the Second Amendment. Golden has an "F" rating from the Gun Owners of Maine, a "D" rating from the NRA, and refused to answer questions from the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. Poliquin, on the other hand, made it clear that he is the candidate to protect the Second Amendment--earning the endorsement and an "A" from the NRA, an "A+" from the Gun Owners of Maine, and the endorsement of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine.

Bruce Poliquin wants to keep Maine's economy growing and to lower healthcare costs for Mainers. Jared Golden is proud of his socialist agenda.

There is a clear choice for Maine voters after tonight.
